I had the absolute pleasure of making this cake for Keamisha & her family- I hope i did Yvonne proud. The cake was decorated tastefully to match in with the order of service with light blue/ white marbled icing & clouds. So today marks first 5 years without my mum & somedays I’d say it’s gone quick other times it feels like yesterday…. But one thing is I think of her every day & miss her more than I ever thought I would. Our relationship was difficult but ‘you only have one mum’ no matter the history between you - good & bad. 💕

📌 A day in the life of a cake maker & decorator! 🍰🧁🎂 People ask me how long does it take to make a cake ….this lovely cake took 2.5days not including the prep work for models. That includes mixing, cooking, cooling, levelling, filling ( making up buttercream), ganache coatings ( making ganache), carving & shaping, dying icing to the colour chosen, covering, smoothing, dowel cake, stacking….. not including all the little bits like handmade models, flower pots, garden tools, trees & even rocks & edible mud!!! Oh & forgot to mention the thousand bowls of hot water & mountains of washing up! It’s pretty full on most days & NO I can’t do this cake for £50!
