This one was definitely a challenge… and I LOVE a challenge 🙌 Created for Alex’s 16th birthday back in November, this was such a unique and detailed design. I’ll be honest — I wasn’t familiar with the theme at all and there was very limited information online. Thankfully Alex’s mum, Sarah, came to the rescue with a detailed sketch and we talked through every single element to bring it all together perfectly. This was a 2-tier extra deep cake in salted caramel and black velvet sponges, iced in fondant. The design included: 🩸 Elements from The Binding of Isaac and its enemies & doorways 🧢 A nod to the Netflix series You (Joe’s cap and wording!) ⛩️ A completely handmade, fully edible 3D Torii gate with cherry tree and blossom ⚔️ Edible katana sword ❤️ Red, black & blue hearts 🩸 Finished with a dramatic blood drip I love pushing myself creatively and making as much as possible fully edible — and this cake definitely ticked that box. 🎭✨ Celebrating 80 Years of Cheltenham Playhouse Society ✨🎭 I was honoured to create not one but TWO custom cakes to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Cheltenham Playhouse Society ❤️ The main showstopper was a towering 10” & 12” extra deep design in salted caramel and strawberry marble sponge – and when I say it weighed a ton… I mean it! (Hence the turntable photo 🙈). This beauty was designed to feed over 100 guests for their special celebration. Finished in classic ivory with striking red, gold and black detailing, edible printed images, elegant drapes and stage door features – it truly captured the theatre theme perfectly 🎬✨ The second cake was a coordinating ‘cutting cake’ in pink marble sponge. A simpler design but perfectly in keeping with the anniversary theme.
